You may want to check or test any updates or changes before applying them to the new installation. Softaculous has the option to clone your installation for this purpose. Follow the steps below to start the cloning.
Cloning the installation with Softaculous
- Log in to cPanel .

Find the "Software" section, then click on "Softaculous Apps Installer"..

Click on the "Installations" box to view all installations.

- Locate the installation you wish to clone.
- Click on the "Clone" icon next to the name of your website.

On the next page, you will find the cloning installation details. Complete the required fields.
Choose the installation URL : your installation URL will be the URL or web address where people can access the cloned WordPress site.
(1) Choose domain : select the name of the website you want to clone.
(2) In directory : provide the directory name or location where the website files will be saved.
(3) Database name : this field is automatically filled in. You can also go ahead and enter the name of your preferred database.

Click Clone Installation at the bottom of the page. Be sure to consider the timing of the cloning, as the speed depends on the size of the installation.

Once the cloning is done, Softaculous will provide you with the website and administration URLs that you can use to access this cloned installation.
Notes :
- Clone installation details will be sent by email (if enabled).
- The login details (administrator/user account) are the same as the credentials of the source installation account.
