It is not always necessary to register a new domain name when the one you already own will work just fine. Instead of registering a new domain name, you can always create a "subdomain" using a domain you already own.
A "subdomain" is a second website with your unique content, but no new domain name. Instead, it uses an existing domain name and changes the www to another name. The subdomain name looks like forums.domain.com, help.domain.com, help2.domain.com (assuming you already host domain.com). Below are the steps to create a subdomain within cPanel.
To create a subdomain, do the following:
- Login to "cPanel"
- Find the "Domains" section and then click on "Subdomains".
- In the subdomain field, enter the desired subdomain name. In this example, we use blog as the subdomain.
- In the drop-down menu, select the domain where you want to create the subdomain.
- The document root field will be automatically filled in after filling in the Subdomain field.
- Click the "Create" button.
To delete a subdomain , do the following:
- In the "Subdomains" section, find the subdomain you want to delete.
- Under "Actions", click on "Delete".
